The Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act
This spring, the government passed the JOBS Act to keep up with the times: i.e., crowdfunding. Businesses can now raise up to one million in capital through Kickstarter, Indiegogo and other platforms, and “donating” individuals can expect a financial return on such investments. Why is this included in our round-up? Well, though the SEC delayed its consideration of the Act this week, we can expect the change to actually take effect relatively soon. Experts debate whether the new allowance will promote entrepreneurialism… or fraud. What do you think?
